Del Norte Elementary School Newsletter
August 2021
Dear Del Norte Families,
Thank you for an amazing start to our school year. We are so thankful to have all of our students in person every day. We realize that there are concerns about the time they missed last year. I assure you that our teachers have a plan and they are working hard to help the students make up for lost time. Your continued support at home will help a great deal with this process.
Parent conferences will be held on Thursday September 16th from 4:00-7:00 and Friday September 17th from 8:00-12:00. Unfortunately, we cannot hold them in person. Your child’s teacher will be contacting you to set up a time for a conference call or for a Zoom meeting. We look forward to discussing your student’s progress with you.
Thank you for continuing to obey the traffic rules that we have in place to keep everyone safe. Please continue to use the crosswalks when crossing the street. School starts at 7:50 each morning and we appreciate your efforts to get your students here on time. This allows us to get each and every day off to a great start. We appreciate your support in all that we do here at Del Norte. Our families, students, and staff are what make this an extra special place.
Respectfully,
Mr. Alsup,
Del Norte Principal

If you pick up your child early, or if your child is tardy, he/she will miss this much school:

If a child misses 20 days a year, it is very likely he/she will not be proficient in either reading or math.
